Vienna/Beijing, 16 November 2020 - 15:00 CET

The capacities and mutual learning curves in our regional, national and supranational innovation ecosystems in the European Union, China and beyond will decide wether we will cope with the challenges and transformations ahead of us in the 21st century. Therefore CDA strives to attract some of the leading innovation researchers of our time in Europe and China. Today it is our pleasure to announce that Professor LIU Xielin from Beijing has accepted his nomination as Member of the CDA Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. LIU is one of the top scholars in this field in the People's Republic of China. As professor with School of Economics and Management and Director of Research Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in Beijing he has an outstanding academic footprint also in Europe and beyond.

Together with European research partners he focused in recent years amongst others on "Global Innovation Networks and Sustainable Energy" as part of the Sino-Danish Center (SDC) in Beijing. SDC is a partnership between all eight Danish universities, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). His work on China's indigenous innovation development was published by the East-West Center based in Honolulu/Hawaii (established by US Congress in 1960). In recent years he also contributed to the Sino-German Innovation Conference coordinated jointly by Ministry of Education and Research (Federal Republic of Germany) and Ministry of Science and Technology (People's Republic of China). As Co-Editor of the book "Regional Innovation Index of China" (published with Springer) he contributed to comparative performance measurement of regional innovation ecosystems with a focus on China.
