Meeting with Xinhua and Guangming Daily Chief Correspondents in Vienna

Vienna/Beijing, 17 June 2020 - 16:00 CET

In order to open channels for communication towards the Chinese public and media CDA Board Members invited the Chief Correspondents of Xinhua, China's largest and most important news agency, as well as Guangming Daily, one of the top newspapers in China, to have an initial talk in the CDA office. The focus of the discussion with Mr. YU (XINHUA) and Mr. JIAO (GD) was on Sino-European relations, the role of science, technology, innovation (STI) and entrepreneurship in China's rapid reform and opening up process of the last 40 years as well as framework conditions for macroeconomic developments in comparison with Europe. Furthermore steps towards an improved Sino-European dialogue at the dawn of Germany's EU Council Presidency starting beginning of July were debated.
