Innovation and Green Finance - Gearing Capital, Corporates and Science towards a global Circular Economy
Against the backdrop of the rising tide of urgency to give resolute, global answers to the climate crisis, innovation and the transformation of global financial industry play a crucial role. Focusing on the worldwide application of windpower-technologies and large infrastructure investments CDA and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) hosted a webinar together with key-players in Europe and China. From International Financial Institutions the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) provided insights in the strategic development of their investment portfolios related to green finance. Two of the world’s largest banks – China Construction Bank and Intesa Sanpaolo – presented their performance in sustainability and circular economy investments. Top managers from the globally leading European and Chinese windpower corporations introduced their innovative technologies also in context of cooperation with financial markets. The facts from finance and industry were embedded in a more systemic view on economic development perspectives by leading scholars from Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
